Mo is out of the hospital!!!!

Hi,

Just a quick update that Monique was transferred yesterday to a rehab facility at CPMC. She is at the Davies Campus in the city.

CPMC Davies Campus
Davies North Tower
Castro & Duboce Streets
San Francisco, CA 94114
415-600-0200

This is great news as it was not supposed to happen to later this week. She will have PT every morning for a few hours and in the afternoon...long, hard days! I am not sure about visitors, but she is reachable by cell. Flowers, cards, etc. can be sent I believe to the above address. Might want to call first to make sure they get to the right place!

Thank you again for all your undying strength and support ~ keep it coming! I know she appreciates all so much. She truly is amazing.

Latest Update, Sunday ~ September 27

Hi everyone,

> It's been a couple days since I updated everyone, which if
> you hadn't guessed is a good sign.  All the tubes running
> into her chest have been removed, Physical Therapy has her
> standing once a day, and she is looking great.  Her progress
> over the last week is unreal.  On the surface, if you don't
> count a few abrasions and incisions, she looks almost
> normal.  But she still struggles with the pain from her 10+
> broken bones and numerous surgical incisions.  As far as I
> know she might be leaving the hospital this week for a
> rehabilitation facility in San Francisco, where she'll begin
> the next step in the recovery process.
>
> Along with her rapid progress I am also truly touched by
> the amount of people who have reached out to Monique, her
> family, and me.  So many of you have inquired about seeing her and I apologize for not setting up a schedule for visiting.  I really appreciate your patience in the matter. Those of you who have
> spent time in the hospital know how hard it is to get sleep
> and how important it is in the recovery process.  The
> combination of sleepless nights, over-stimulation of the
> hospital environment, and the constant nagging of injuries
> can drain a person to the point of exhaustion only to start
> the process again the next day.
>
> All the notes, cards, emails, text messages, phone calls,
> flowers, offers of assistance, food, gifts, and positive
> energy directed our way has blown me away and has helped us
> out immensely.  In time I hope to thank each and everyone
> of you.  Knowing that you are all here to help at a moments
> notice is a breath of fresh air.  I think William
> Shakespeare said it best, "I can no other answer make, but,
> thanks, and thanks."
>
> Take care,

Wednesday, Spetember 23: Latest Update on Mo

It is hard to believe that it has already been a week....Monique has made so much headway. The best news is that she is out of the ICU and making some great progress.
She is eating solid foods, has had one of her chest tubes removed and been fitted with a thoracic/cervicle brace. The PT had her standing for a few moments too!

She is amazing, but this is no surprise!

As much as all of you want to visit Monique, and I know some of you have, she has asked that maybe we refrain right now as hard as it is. She is still in a lot of pain and has to be constantly moved, which is exhausting too. She has access to her cell phone at times and says it is almost easier to just talk to people rather then see them at this moment. Now let's just hope she turns her phone off when she needs to rest!!

I know she can receive flowers, cards, etc.

I know everyone's undying support has really helped...keep it coming!

Thanks,
Sandy

A couple of things....

I am not sure why people are not able to post...I am trying to fix that, so sorry.

Also, the account transfer number for non-Wells Fargo bankers was missing a number. The transfer number is ACH121042882.

We are trying to see how to make this account tax-deductable.

Thanks for your patience.

Latest Update

I saw Monique this morning. Her sisters left today and her parents are still here. She was alert and talking more strongly. Her swelling (mostly from surgeries) has gone down tremendously. She is looking more like herself. :) She is able to have slightly more movement even though she is still in a great deal of pain.

Monique has heard about all the Facebook postings and the blog and was really happy and touched about all the responses. Keep them coming!

Her tolerance for all the pain is amazing. I think that is one of the biggest obstacles for her right now. I admire her strength and determination to get stronger every day.

Monique Petrov Donation Account

Danielle Cane so kindly set-up this donation account for Monique. We are also in the process of brainstorming ideas for some fundraising events for Mo,

It is at Wells Fargo Bank, and the account # is:9918242042.  It is called the Monique Petrov Donation Account.  There are several ways a person can contribute money.   If you are a Wells customer, you can transfer money into the account online.  If you are with another bank, and they will do the transfer, the routing # is: ACH 12142882.  You can take a check directly into a Wells Fargo Branch, or you can mail a check to me, and I will deposit it:  Danielle Cane    28 Westwood Dr.  San Rafael, Ca. 94901.  Make checks payable to: Monique Petrov Donation Account.

Here is an update from Adam that was posted on Facebook this morning.

FROM ADAM: it is so nice to have mo talking again.... so nice that the ICU staff had to ask me to leave so she could get some rest. everyday seems to get easier for her. still she is very weak and in a lot of pain, but she has high spirits, mainly b/c she is loved by so many. have a good night

MO! MO! MO!

In honour of Monique, we have created this blog to update you on her progress and share our thoughts. I have never done this before, so bear with me! This blog will constantly be updated and we are in the process of adding pictures. Please become a member in order to do postings.

As of today Sunday, September 20 ~ Monique is continuing to recover in the ICU. She is conscious and breathing on her own and able to talk a bit. Even though she is in a great deal of pain, she is getting stronger each day. She is with her family at this time and they have requested NO visitors until she is more stable and most likely out of ICU. Please continue your incredible support. The energy that is flowing her way is helping her to no end. She is a fighter!
